A list of happy things that have made my day

Friday:
Giving John the Batman voice when he called Sam
$400 divorce

Saturday:
This conversation with my mother:
Mom (in her best Christian Siriano voice): "Tim Gunn is so FIERCE!"
Me: "Yes, but he's not a hottrannymess!"
Mom: "A what?"
Me: "Hottrannymess!"
Mom: "Hot...tranny...mess?"
Me: "Yes. Hot as in not cold, tranny as in transexual, mess as in not clean!"
Mom: "Hot tranny mess?"

Up there with the time she said "Tramp stamp." Which she repeated on Saturday.

Sunday:
Christmas Tree Shops
Batman Bubbles "I'm Batman, and I need more bubbles for my bath."
Elvis, our waiter at Chili's. His name was...Alex? I guessed Alfred at first, then I decided his parents were assholes and knew what a dork/loser he'd be when he grew up so they named him Elvis in a defiant act of irony.

I was also in love with him.

And now the coup de gras...

Monday:
ROSEMARY MAGENTA.

In case you're wondering what that means, that is the real name of a Temple library employee. She called my desk this morning.

And now my day is made.

I did that "put your iTunes on shuffle and do the soundtrack of your life" thing. And then I was like, "HEY! My mp3 player is completely different from my iTunes, so let's see what I'd get that way!" So I have two sets of answers. The italicized ones are from my mp3 player.

Without further ado, my double sountrack! With limited commentary, as inspired by Liz! )

Subject line? Still one of my favorite lines I've ever written. And it's the whole reason "The Best of Me" exists.

I've been really passionate about my music lately, I guess. I'm actually almost pleased with the songs I have up on myspace right now. I like "Winter," and "You Just Walked Away" has its moments. I still love my guitar part for "Stay," and "Beyond the Storm" isn't too bad I guess.

My music is advancing and maturing and I guess I'm finally proud of myself.

I want to do some cool things with my music when I'm home. I'm not taking my acoustic home, but I have things recorded that I can add electric guitar and piano to.

So, in short, I'll have a busy first half of my spring break.

SPRING BREAK WHOOOO!!!

I have 3 more episodes of Arrested Development to watch and my marathon is ovah.

I'm thinking "You Just Walked Away" might become a piano song rather than a guitar one. It was only really guitar because that's kind of what I have here, but I'm thinking I can do cool things with it on the piano...assuming I know how to play, which I don't, but I pretend and try. But I definitely need new vocals for that because the ones I have...you can tell I'm kinda sick haha.

I need to write more songs.

So I have my last class until after spring break at 4:10. I'm hanging out in the Tech Center until then. At this point I'm just trying to incorporate the ridiculous amount of tags I put at the bottom out of lameness.

I did laundry the other night, if you remember, and I guess I overloaded the dryer because my jeans are all STILL wet. So I had to wear jeans that I hadn't worn for awhile that I'm pretty sure I haven't worn since the last time I washed them. So they're clean! Yesterday I wore jeans I hadn't worn in...I don't even remember. I used to wear them in high school.

I miss Pepsi. Seriously. I have no soda. I have milk. And crappy water. Crappy because we have a Brita filter, but no one ever changes the filter, and there's always black stuff, and it just tastes worse than drinking the damn tap water.

I'm hungry but can't eat until after my 4:10. Which is over at 5:30. So boo :(

MAYBE HE'LL HAVE MERCY ON US AND LET US OUT EARLY SINCE SOME OF US ARE LEAVING TOMORROW MORNING/AFTERNOON FOR SPRING BREAK :D

Doubtful.

I hope we don't have a pop quiz today.

I guess I'll just have to take my chances.

OH. I have to do an oral history paper over break. Any ideas for a topic? I also have to figure out what I'm doing my research paper on for journalism and the law, so it has to be something dealing with free speech and legislation and court cases. Any ideas? (That's mainly a question for you, Amber. HA. We can discuss it while we're both in Altoona? haha)

Oh I'm so hungry.

SOMEONE HELP ME FIGURE OUT MY LIFE.

What's up with me being an updating whore today?

Discuss.

I'm doing the Amanda Feaster 10 words with a letter meme thing. And I got T. T IS HARD!!! :(

I've had a little while to think this over, so I hope my answers are good and such.

Truth: It's something I'm afraid of. I'm afraid of admitting to myself that I'm never as happy as I let on to others. I also am extremely afraid of letting other people down and hurting their feelings. I lack the ability to say no.

Taboo: One of the greatest games ever, I SWEAR. Nicki and I used to play this a lot. We pretended to be playing it when Cathy was staying over the one night, back when we weren't allowed to watch The X-Files but did anyway, but had to stop when my mother came in the room. I remember specifically one night during a blizzard where she and I went through the entire box of cards, both sides. I also remember playing with Greg and Heather and other youth group people, and she and I kicked everyone else's butts. And then there was last night, playing at Darcy's...that was fun. My team won because we were awesome.

Trust: I have trust issues. It's very hard for me to actually let people in because deep down, I know that I'm only there to amuse them until someone better comes along, and then we'll make a clean break and think nothing of it. And so continues the cycle of me having a new group of friends every year. It seems that no one is ever in my life long enough to make a real impression, or to earn my trust. If I let you in, that's a big deal.

Temple: As much as this school sucks sometimes, I really am glad I came here. I'm glad I didn't let my parents talk me out of it. I love being in Philly. I love the opportunities that I'm afforded since I don't live in Altoona anymore. My only regret is that I don't do more and that I won't be here for the summer. The thing that sucks, too, is the fact that, although the beginning of this semester was awful, the end has been so great, and now it's almost over and most of my friends are graduating, which has put me in a sort of a funk. But I'll be okay. I always am.

Texas Orange: Now my favorite hoodie, Nicki's birthday present to me that she was worried about has inspired our Hyphen panda T-shirts. I basically wear this hoodie every day. And on Tuesday, I wore it with the panda shirt. And it's just a great shirt.

Tinkerbell: My purse. I got it at Wal-Mart over Thanksgiving break. I still use it. It's pink, and people like to comment on it. It makes me happy, although I've contemplated replacing it many times.

Take 5: Best candy bar ever. Obviously. Every time I'm home and I see Heather, we eat them. And it's a good time.

The Fray: I'm not sure if this counts as a "T" word, but I'm really running out of them. haha...seeing them in concert was amazing. Being front row and just being there...rrishraiosrwaorwoa!!! And ever since Tuesday's Scrubs, I can't get How To Save a Life out of my head, so I've been listening to all of their songs nonstop and ultimately getting sad. But it's been a good time regardless.

Take Me Out: A song I wrote...not one of my favorites, but it's been featured on several people's myspace profiles, actually. My Chrismiss loves it. I don't really know that this song is significant, haha...but whatever.

Television: Never watch it. Haven't touched a TV in two weeks. But that doesn't stop me from watching TV on DVD. I don't count watching DVDs as watching TV because the TV in my bedroom doesn't have cable. But yeah, for the most part, my TV on DVD collection makes my life. My TV shows are very important to me, obviously, with my freaking out over Scrubs and Arrested Development.

That should do.

Oh, by the way, I'm going to be on the radio tonight. My friends have an internet radio show, and they're playing "Lost In the Ashes."

By the way, it's nice to not be running around like a crazy person and then having homework and things to do. So nice. Sitting in my bedroom and reading is good for the soul. AND I TOOK A NAP...yeah pretty freaking awesome.

Actually, that's not scary. That's something that MAKES ME HAPPY, and yeah, it's what I did today.

So I wrote my magazine article, called "College Survival 101," and emailed it in with 45 minutes to spare because I am AWESOME.

So tomorrow (today) I put the new hair to the test and venture downtown for some shopping. I need new pants.

Soooooo yeah. Good times.

THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR...yes, I'm updating for the first time since Friday and FINALLY posting my pictures from the concert!!! )

So that was fun. The concert was awesome. I got myself a shirt, some free buttons, and 2 CDs.

On Friday, I went to class (YES I DID.) and then hopped on the subway and met 2getherslut587Liz and Priscilla a the Starbucks on South Street across from the TLA. We sat around, ate a very healthy dinner, and then ventured across the street once we saw some people lining up (this was around 6:30 and the doors opened at 8. Oh yes.) It was COLD AS BALLS ALL OVER MY FACE, but we FINALLY got in and ended up IN THE FRONT ROW, OH YES.

I enjoyed all 3 acts. I hadn't heard of The Damnwells, but they were pretty good. And Cary Brothers...aside from the annoying girl behind me who was originally beside me and kept saying, "The Cary Brothers...who's that? OH IT'S THE BLUE EYES GUY??? HE'D BETTER PLAY THAT SONG." and then started singing it. Horribly.

He played "Blue Eyes," of course, and it was amazing. He said, "How many of you saw Garden State?" and was like, "I HAD A SONG IN THAT MOVIE!!"

He was funny, and I love him. Bunches.

So then The Fray came out...AMAZING. SERIOUSLY. The energy was so high once they hit that stage, and they're such great performers...AHH and I love "How to Save a Life," which was the first song they did...and when they finally did "Cable Car," that was awesome.

OH IT WAS SOOOO GREAT. AND CHEAP. AND FRONT ROW. AND FDJSIAORJEOWAJTOIERAWTIOARUWEA!!!!

In other news, I might go see Rhett Miller on April 7th at the TLA. Anyone with me? :D

Here I am, at 2:21 AM, sitting in the Tech Center. Why? The fire alarm went off, I was in the middle of a paper, and I was annoyed.

This has become my new home, I swear. My internet sucks, so, seeing how dependent Temple is on technology, I'm forced to come here to do my mass amounts of papers and things if I want an internet connection that I can actually rely on.

I'm putting my tuition dollars to good use right here.

I don't have my Bible to quote me, so I can't really do that much of this paper.

Maybe everyone's already back in the building.

I have no idea.

But I should get this done.

WHOO THE FRAY IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS!!!!! :D

I'm excited. Can you tell? haha

So yeah. I'm sitting here in my pajamas, not wearing a bra or socks, and my boob itches.

Awesome.

I HATE THE FIRE ALARM.
